HOOPGIRLS 2023 – 2024 Season

General Info:

  • Lead Coach/Director of Program: Cathy Townsend

  • Assistant Coordinator and Coach:  Patrick Tangney

  • Practices one day per weekday starting first full week of December through last week of February

  • Games on Saturdays starting January 6th through March 2nd, 2024.

  • Specialized developmental clinics planned for Saturdays Dec 9th (3rd/4th, 5th graders) and Dec 16th, 2023 (6th, 7th/8th graders)

Location of weekday practices and saturday clinics:  Sherwood Recreation Center on Capitol Hill, 640 10th Street (at G Street) NE, Washington, DC

Practice Schedule by Grade/Age level:

Wednesdays – 6:00-7:30pm, Starting December 6, 2023 through February 28, 2024

  • 4th Grade Team (3rd graders welcome if ready)

  • 5th Grade Team

Friday evenings –  6:00 to 7:30pm, Starting December 8, 2023 through March 1, 2024

  • 6th Grade Team

  • 7/8th Grade Team (combined

GAMES:  Begin Saturday, January 6th through Saturday, March 2nd, 2024 (schedule of times will be shared by year-end)
  • 3/4th Grade and 5th Grade location:  Key ES School, Palisades, DC
  • 6th & 7/8th Grade location:  Murch ES School, NW DC
